The town of Merryville will hold its first ever Summer Fest on Saturday.
The event will be held on the Merryville Museum grounds and boasts food and fun for the whole family to enjoy.

The festivities will begin at 10:00 a.m. and won’t shut down until 10:00 p.m.

The event was originally scheduled for earlier this month, however threats of inclement weather forced the event to move to this Saturday.

“We want everyone to have a great time and enjoy the day without having to dodge thunderstorms.” Alderman Sara Barnes Sellers said.

The weather.com forecast for Saturday predict partly cloudy skies with highs in the upper 90’s, which means bright and sunny skies for the inaugural event.

A wide variety of fun and family friendly activities is set to dazzle and delight the citizens of Merryville.

The event is boasting fireworks, food, vendors, live music, talent show, volleyball, pick up ducks, cakewalk, hot dog eating contest, dunk tank, fun jump water slides, washer board tournament and “Sneaux in July.”

This community event is sponsored by the Merryville Fire Department, The Merryville Police Department,The Merryville Museum, Merryville Town Hall and Sara's Hope for a Cure.
