A simple traffic stop quickly turned into a massive search for Delon Swafford in Leesville.

Swafford was pulled over Tuesday by officers with the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office (VPSO) on a routine traffic stop on Jean Chapel Road in Leesville.

When asked by officers to exit the vehicle, Swafford fled on foot.

He left his vehicle in drive after fleeing, causing it to crash into a resident’s building.

No one was harmed by the vehicle, but the building did receive damage.

VPSO officers arrested Swafford hours later near Lebleu Road with the assistance of K9 units.

Swafford has since been charged with aggravated flight from an officer, expired Driver's License, two counts possession of schedule I with intent, two counts possession of schedule II with intent, two counts possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting an officer,aggravated criminal damage to property, driving on a roadway laned for traffic, turn signal required,and reckless operation.

Swafford is currently being held in the Vernon Parish Jail and no bond has been set at this time.
