The Vernon Parish Chamber of Commerce and surrounding Vernon Parish community would like to thank all of the partners and volunteers that aided in the Military Appreciation Parade on Saturday, July 14.

The parade would not have been the success it was were it not for the help of the surrounding Leesville and Vernon Parish community, with local businesses and representatives coming together to offer their services in any way that they could.

“I think it’s important to really take the time to appreciate everything these people did for our soldiers and for the community at large,” Executive Director of the Vernon Parish Chamber of Commerce Anne Causey said. “We here at the Chamber of Commerce, and all of Vernon Parish really, just want to say thank you for helping make it a perfect day for our soldiers.”

The following partners aided the Military Appreciation Parade in a variety of ways, from Bailey’s Bakery and their late night shifts in helping prepare a cupcake recreation of the American Flag, to the Tourism Commission and their preparation of breakfast for the special guests invited to attend the parade in front of the Historic Courthouse.

Each partner proved invaluable in helping to make the celebration a success, and each deserve thanks for the amount of effort they put in to show Fort Polk and its troops how much they are appreciated:
