Fort Polk will be opening its 2018 Warrior Swamp Run to Military families and the local community at the Alligator Recreation Site.

Participants will be given the chance to run alongside each other in the muck and mire of Louisiana in a non-timed, non competitive event.

The participants will be divided into multiple waves, comprised of 40 runners per wave with 10 minute intervals. The first seven waves will be comprised of adults only (18 years or older), with the first wave beginning at 7:30 a.m.

All remaining waves will be designated to participants 13 years or olders, and will begin at 8:40 a.m.

Check-in will open at 6:30 a.m. at the Alligator Recreation Site, and participants will be required to check in 30 minutes before their assigned wave.

All participants will be required to sign a waiver and liability release form, and any participant under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian present on the course.

Priority and open registration have already been opened, with registration closing on September 12, 2018. Entrance is free, but limited to 800 participants (40 per wave).

The event will be held on Saturday, September 15. The Alligator Recreation Site is located at 430 Alligator Lake Loop, with parking available across the street from the main entrance.
