Marquita Wright was murdered Monday Morning just before 5 a.m. at her home in the Twin Lakes subdivision in DeRidder.

Wright was 24 years old and a mother of young children. Wright was a dispatcher for the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office (BPSO), and multiple sources report that she had just finished her shift at around 4:30 a.m.

The DeRidder Police Department (DPD) responded to a report of shots fired at Wright’s home at around 5 a.m., according to DeRidder Police Chief John Gott. When officers arrived they found Wright’s body on the front porch of her home.

Her children were in the home when the incident took place. According to Chief Gott, no one was harmed.

As of this writing, no arrests have been made. No potential suspects have been released to the public. The investigation is ongoing, and local authorities are receiving assistance from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Forensic Team. They have fully searched Wright’s home and are gathering evidence.
