After a quick first set, Leesville bounced back to make it a game and take the win.

The Lady Cats defeated Caddo Magnet 3-2 to win its second match of the set Tuesday night for its second win of the season.

"It feels really wonderful," head coach Rebekah Croney said. "They communicated really and moved really well tonight. They made adjustments as they needed to in the middle of the game."

Leesville won its first match of the season against Mansfield Monday night after starting the year 0-2.

Caddo Magnet took the first set 25-21, but the Lady Cats bounced back to take the second 25-15 after going up 10-3.

"It's very important," Croney said about the runs in the sets. "Most of that is a mental game. It's focusing in, not making mistakes and being really consistent. A big part of that is serving, and I have some really consistent servers on my varsity team."

In the third set, Caddo Magnet rattled off 10 games in a row to take an early 17-8 lead and won the third set 25-19.

The Lady Cats forced a fifth and final set by dominating the fourth set by a score of 25-18.

In the fifth set, tied at 13, Leesville won the final two games, capped off by a spike by Aaliyah Hameed, to pick up the win.

"It's indescribably fun," Croney said. "It's amazing."

The Lady Cats play in the Many Tournament this weekend and host Mansfield for a JV/varsity doubleheader starting at 5 p.m. on Sept. 17 at home.
