The Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office (VPSO) gave chase to a fugitive in Pickering on Tuesday. Larry Lynn Brown fled from officers after they tried to arrest him on Brown’s Lane in Pickering.
Brown was captured through combined efforts from VPSO deputies, Vernon Parish Narcotics Task Force Agents, and the VPSO K9 Chase Team.
Brown fled from a relative’s residence into a heavily wooded area at 1 p.m., and began to remove his clothing as he ran from deputies. VPSO established a perimeter and deployed the K9 unit.
Brown was taken into custody two hours later. He was arrested for two bench warrants from Beauregard Parish and possession of stolen items. He was subsequently booked into the Vernon Parish Jail. No bond has been set as of this writing.
Brown has a history of drug related crime, and has been arrested by the Vernon Parish Narcotics Task Force before. He was arrested in 2015 for operating a meth lab, as well as numerous other charges stemming from that arrest.
In a release posted online, Sheriff Sam Craft commended all officers involved in the arrest for their hard work and diligence in upholding the law, and protecting the citizens of Vernon Parish.
