The Vernon Parish Quiz Bowl will be held Thursday, Feb. 11 at the Leesville High School auditorium.
The event is co-sponsored by the Vernon Parish School Board and the Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce. Eight Vernon Parish high schools will be competing for top honors, according to Mr. Jackie Self, superintendent of Vernon Parish Schools.
Matches will begin at 8:30 a.m. and will conclude this evening at approximately 5 p.m.
Teams consist of six members with four participating at one time. The rules of the competition follow closely to the College Bowl matches that have been seen on television in the past. Each match consists of four rounds of questioning: toss-up questions, lightning round questions, twenty question worksheet round, and toss-up bonus round. A match will last about thirty minutes.
The public is invited to attend all of the matches. There will be no admission charged.
