The trial for a Vernon Parish man accused of robbing and stabbing a Rosepine man has been postponed until a later date.
The trial for Andre Porter, 19, was postponed during Wednesday's pretrial discussion and plea session in 30th District Court.
His trial was initially scheduled for Jan. 17; the trial will need to be rescheduled via motion.
Trials for Joshua Griffin, 22, and Dontrez Banks, 17, also scheduled for Jan. 17, were not postponed during Wednesday's session. It is expected, however, that both trials will be postponed.
The trials will be heard by District Judge John Ford.
Banks, Griffin and Porter are charged with the first degree murder of Jason Perry, 23, of Rosepine. Police said that they initially found Perry lying unconscious in his driveway after suffering several stab wounds. Police also acknowledged that at least one of the suspects had been involved in a dispute with Perry in the past, but it was unclear whether the dispute had any involvement with Perry's death.
