The Leesville Police Department has arrested one man and is searching for another suspect in connection with an armed robbery in the Lee Hills area last week.
Joseph J. Lopez II, 20, of Leesville was arrested on Jan. 3 on charges of armed robbery, home invasion, aggravated battery, simple criminal damage to property and criminal conspiracy.
According to the police department, officers responded to the call of an armed robbery in progress on Dec. 30 in the Lee Hills area. When officers arrived, witnesses told police that two suspects kicked in the front door of a residence, robbed a victim at gunpoint and later fled the area.
Lopez is currently being held in the Vernon Parish Sheriff's Office Jail on a $117,500 bond.
