The Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Car Raffle has begun with the selling of the first ticket to last year’s winner, Mildred Reese of Leesville.
 This year’s vehicle is a new Dodge 1500 Hemi Quadcab from Pynes Chrysler of Leesville.
 Tickets are $200 each with only 250 tickets available for the Tuesday Oct. 21 Raffle Party at Celebrations in historic downtown Leesville, where it is the “Last” ticket drawn that is the winner.
 A new twist for this year will be the addition by Chamber Board Member Bob Shirron of AECOM of an electronic board showing the ticket numbers drawn or still remaining to be drawn.  If you step into the side room for food or refreshments, no more wondering if your number has been called or not. It will be clear “On the Board” as to what tickets are left to be drawn.
 Each ticket admits two to the party with free food and drinks by bar sponsor Sabine State Bank and dinner sponsors Holiday Inn Express, Specialty Healthcare & West State Orthopedics.
 The pre-drawing social starts at 5:30 p.m. with the drawing starting at 6 p.m. by Master of Ceremonies Rick Barnickel.
 Tickets are available from Chamber Raffle Chairperson Anne Causey of Sabine State Bank or at the Chamber of Commerce offices located on the North end of Leesville near the intersection of US 171 North & LA 28. Tickets at the door the night of the event will be $225 if any are left.
