Dear Editor,
Beauregard Community Concerns, Inc. and the June N. Jenkins Women’s Shelter is pleased to announce the tremendous success of our 2011 Adopt-a-Family Christmas program. Community support is the heart of this program, and we feel blessed to live in an area with such generous, caring people. The “Adopt-a-Family” program is an annual event where individuals, families, organizations, churches, schools, or businesses help ensure the survivors of domestic violence and their children are remembered during the holiday season. Thanks to the amazing community support received we were able to provide fifty-four Domestic Violence Survivors (women and children) with a wonderful Christmas.
We would like to express our heart-felt gratitude to the following businesses, organizations, and individuals for their generous support:
Teresa Hunt and Amerisafe, Rhonda Stokes and the Pitkin High School Honor Society, Katie Perkins and the Believer’s Bible Church Women’s Group, Teri Theaux, Altha Clark, Gail James and Lonestar Baptist Church, Celise Harper and the ladies at the Beauregard Parish Library, Sherry and Sarah Reech, Diane Porotko, Cindy Garcia and her boys, Albert Wienig and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Youth Group, Kathy Rhodes and First Baptist Church Refinery Student Ministry, Amy Brasseaux and South Beauregard 4-H, Broadlands Community Club, Joe Toler and the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office, Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Hair Designz 4U, Marble Slab, Brookshire Brothers, Allen and Cathy Bradley, Beckwith Baptist Church, Spring Creek and Dry Creek Homemakers Club, John Marcello, Darlene Collins, and the Catholic Daughters of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. You all made 2011 Adopt-a-Family possible.
In addition, we’d like to say, “thanks a million” to Audrey Montgomery, Hadley Allen, and the Pitkin High School Honor Society for helping wrap gifts.
You all did a wonderful job and contributed in your own unique ways to make this a wonderful Christmas for our Adopt-A-Families. From the bottom of our hearts, “thank you.”
Our utmost gratitude,
