A tree lighting ceremony at Fort Polk's Main Post Chapel Dec. 1 featured lots of holiday cheer, including musical entertainment, a tall Christmas tree lit with large white lights and a visit from St. Nick, pulled by white horses while his reindeer take a much-needed break before their worldwide flight. Many parents lifted their kids up on shoulders to give them a first-rate view. Santa answered all this attention as he usually does: With a hearty "ho ho ho."
