Miers seeks re-election as Anacoco alderman

LaVerne Miers, 69, of Anacoco is seeking reelection as an alderman for the Village of Anacoco.
Miers has served on the council for 12 years and has lived in Anacoco for more than 16.
“I am seeking reelection because it is my passion to provide effective government and oversight to the families and citizens of Anacoco,” said Miers. “The past 12 years that I have served as alderman have been most rewarding, aiding in improvements for the betterment and enjoyment of our citizens and visitors.”
Miers graduated from Dry Prong High School in Grant Parish before attending Louisiana Technical College in Alexandria.
Miers is a member of Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church in Rosepine and a Notary Public.
She is married to Perry Miers and they have eight children and 10 grandchildren.
“If reelected, I will continue to be actively involved in projects and assert myself as a good steward of the people’s best interest,” she said. “I will continue to be fair, and open-minded in making decisions that have an effect on our Village and it’s residents. I take my job seriously and ask for a chance to continue to serve the Village of Anacoco.”
