Leesville native Rodney Hennigan is the author of My Father’s Gift: A Louisiana Outdoor Legacy, featuring adventures with his family in Louisiana, enjoying the area known as Sportsman’s Paradise. His illustrative true stories have appeared in the American Press, Christian Star News, Sportsman’s Bucksaver and Lagniappe. A railroad conductor by trade, Hennigan and his wife Nancy live in Westlake, Louisiana.
The book was selected to be a featured book selection of The Louisiana Book Festival of 2011, where Hennigan also served as a panelist for the October event.
In July, the book was recommended by the Louisiana State Library to be placed inside libraries throughout the state. Hennigan is available to civic organizations to give presentations and to tell stories.
