The Cenla Medication Access Program’s cancer screening van will visit Leesville on Feb. 7-8 to offer Vernon Parish residents colorectal, breast and cervical cancers screenings.
The van will be parked from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. on Feb. 7, and from 8 a.m.- 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 1603 Boone St. Services include free clinical breast exams, mammograms, Pap smears, pelvic exams and take-home colorectal cancer kits. Appointments are required.
Annual breast and cervical screenings are recommended for women ages 40-64 and colorectal screenings for ages 50-64. Residents should contact the Cancer Screening Project at (318) 767-3027 to see if they meet income and insurance qualifications prior to making an appointment.
The screening van is a partnership between The Rapides Foundation, CMAP and the Partners in Wellness Program at Feist-Weiller Cancer Center at LSU-Shreveport.
