Anacoco, La. -

Lance A. Wilson is seeking the post of Anacoco Chief of Police.
Wilson, 52, of Anacoco, has lived in Vernon Parish for 20 years and in Anacoco for the past 17.
“If I am elected Chief of Police of Anacoco, I plan to initiate and oversee a Neighborhood Watch Program and increase patrols on all streets in the village of Anacoco,” said Wilson.
Wilson has more than 12 years experience in law enforcement. He is retired from the United States Army where he served 20 years and is a combat veteran who served in Operation Desert Storm.
Wilson has served as road officer, narcotics officer, warrants officer and court bailiff during his career.
He attended Northwestern State University Leesville Fort Polk majoring in Criminal Justice and earned a degree from Lamar Salter Technical College.
Wilson is a lifetime member and Master Mason-Pickering Lodge; member of Anacoco Orange Lodge, 32 degree Scottish Rite; Lifetime member AMVETS; member of the American Legion Post 387; and attends First Baptist Church of Anacoco.
He has been married to Lori Lee Wilson for 20 years and is the proud father of three children.
“I plant to address the speeding issues that have been brought to my attention and ensure that all people are treated equally and with respect. I also plan to formulate a program to collect the thousands of dollars in outstanding warrants that are sitting idle at City Hall. I want to work closely with the youth and elderly in our community,” Wilson said.
“As a former Boy Scout Leader and certified foster parent, I take a special interest in the youth of our community. Children need positive role models in their lives. I will do everything in my power to ensure the children of Anacoco are safe,” said Wilson.
“I plan to work with the community to develop projects and activities for the youth of Anacoco. I will appreciate your support in making our community a safer place to live and raise our families, by electing me your next Chief of Police.
“My door will always be open for any suggestions or ideas which are important to improve our community. By working together as a team, we can achieve great things for Anacoco. May God bless each of you and our country,” Wilson said.
