VP Registrar of Voters announces fall voting schedule

A schedule of dates for registration, early voting, and elections has been announced by Vernon Parish Registrar of Voters, Tina Cooley.
Congressional first party primary election is Sept. 6. Early voting for this election is Saturday, Aug. 23 through Saturday, Aug. 30, excluding Sunday. Sept. 2 is the last day for the Registrar of Voters Office to receive a request for an absentee mail-in ballot. Sept. 5 is the deadline for the office to receive voted absentee ballots for the ballot to be counted for the election.
Fall open primary election (local election) and second party primary election (if runoff is necessary) is Saturday, Oct. 4. The deadline to make any changes or register to vote is Sept. 3. Early voting for this election is Saturday, Sept. 20 through Saturday, Sept. 27, excluding Sunday. Sept. 30 is the deadline for the Registrar of Voters Office to receive requests for mail-in ballot. Oct. 3 is the last day the office can receive a voted absentee ballot for it to be counted in the election.
Fall open general election and presidential/congressional election is Nov. 4. The deadline to make any changes or register to vote is Oct. 6. Early voting is Tuesday, Oct. 21 through Tuesday, Oct.28, excluding Sunday. Oct. 31 is the last day for the Registrar of Voters to receive requests for absentee mail-in ballots. Nov. 3 is the deadline for the office to receive and absentee ballot for it to be counted in the election.
