A Leesville man was arrested Sunday after allegedly firing a gun at a woman after getting into an argument with her.
D'Andre Anthony Mills, 23, was arrested and charged with one count of attempted second degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
According to the Leesville Police Department, officers received a call of shots fired near a local apartment complex. Upon arrival, the complainant told police that she had gotten into a verbal argument with Mills, who then brandished a gun. As the argument escalated, police say, Mills fired the weapon and then fled the scene.
Officers later received a tip that Mills was hiding in a nearby residence and were able to subdue Mills without further incident. The firearm allegedly used in the incident was also located at the residence. Mills later admitted to investigators that he fired the weapon.
Police say that other individuals were present during the argument but that no one was injured.
Mills is being held at the Vernon Parish Jail on $50,000 bond.
