A Hornbeck man was arrested last week on multiple charges, according to the Vernon Parish Sheriff's Office.
On Aug. 9, deputies were dispatched to an address in Hornbeck in reference to property damage.
The victime told deputies that Tully D. Thornton, 46, had come to her residence earlier and had caused damage to her property. She alleged that Thornton pushed her to the ground, forced his way into her home without her permission and poured gasoline onto a Jeep that was parked at the residence before leaving.
Deputies arrested Thornton at his residence after he became verbally abusive. He was charged with simple battery, second degree battery, criminal trespass, attempted arson, home invasion, unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling, six counts of criminal damage to property, criminal mischief and resisting an officer.
His bond was set at $34,100 and he remains in the Parish Jail.
