Update: The Avoyelles Parish Sheriff's Office reports that Riley and Corey Gautreaux were located in a residence near Turkey Creek. Riley was safely returned home and Corey Gautreaux was taken into custody without incident.
The Avoyelles Parish Sheriff's Office is asking for assistance in locating a 3-year-old child who was abducted by her biological father in Bunkie.
The Avoyelles Parish Sheriff's Office said that at approximately 3 p.m. Friday, 3-year-old Riley Renee Gautreaux was taken from a residence at 300 Briarwood Dr. in Bunkie. The suspect, Corey Gautreaux, reportedy forced his way into the residence and committed a battery on an elderly woman to abduct the child from the residence.
Riley Gautreaux is described as having blonde, shoulder length hair, about 3’2” and weighing between 40 and 45 pounds. She was last seen wearing a grey and black plaid dress with black stockings.
Corey Gautreaux is described as a 24-year-old white male with black hair and is 6'1", weighing approximately 160 pounds. He was seen leaving the area in a gold or brown colored Ford F-250 truck that was occupied by an additional unknown white male.
Corey Gautreaux's whereabouts are currently unknown, but authorities with the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff's Office believe he may be in the Ville Platte area.
