Three players scored in double figures Tuesday night for the Faith Training Christian Academy Lady Patriots in their 57-31 triumph over Southwest of Lake Charles at the First United Pentecostal Church of Leesville gym. With the victory, the Lady Patriots improved to 14-1 on the season and will travel to Abbeville on Friday to play Lighthouse. Emily Reese paced FTCA with 13 points, while Kylee Williams and Feliciana Groves each had 12 points. Kirstyn Jeane pitched in with eight points, while Emily Guidry and Sara Reese finished with five and four points, respectively. Jordan Anderson and Shelby Perry rounded out the scoring with two points and one point. Plainview....79 Hicks....57 HICKS — The Plainview Lady Hornets opened up District 6-C play on Tuesday night with a 79-57 victory over the Hicks Lady Pirates. Plainview is now 19-13 on the season, 1-0 in district play. The Lady Hornets have now won five straight games. The Lady Hornets owned a 34-22 lead over Hicks (6-24, 0-1) at the halftime intermission and used a 26-16 outburst in the third period to open up a 22-point advantage entering the final frame of play. Skylar Chenevert scored a game-high 32 points to lead the Lady Hornets, while LaToya Perkins and Sammie Grissom added 22 and 15 points, respectively. Chela Lack led Hicks with 18 points, while Amber Sumler and Lauren Wellman finished with 14 points apiece. The Lady Hornets take to the road at Elizabeth on Friday in district play, while Hicks plays host to Reeves. Boys Singer......54 Evans.....49 SINGER — Despite having three players score in double figures, the Evans Eagles were unable to register their first district win of the season on Tuesday, falling on the road to the Singer Hornets, 54-49. Singer owns a record of 17-14 overall, 4-2 in District 5-B play heading into a huge road game on Friday at Hornbeck. Evans, which will host Simpson the same day, is 8-22 overall, 0-6 in the league. The Hornets took a 27-23 lead into the half and saw Evans use an 11-10 scoring edge in the third to trim the deficit to just three points entering the fourth quarter, 37-34. However, Singer outscored Evans over the final eight minutes of play to secure the win. Cody Massie had 14 points to lead Singer, while Jordan Pickering finished with 13 points. Evans got 14 points from Zack Reberg, while Ryan Crittenden and Zane Crocker added 11 points each. Southwest.....60 Faith Training...25 The Faith Training Christian Academy Patriots were limited to just five points in the second half of a 60-25 loss at the hands of Southwest of Lake Charles. Tony Elswick had 10 points to lead the Patriots (6-12), while Trace Porter finished with nine points. Xavier Keenan, Brandon Jones and Ahmad Greening each added two points in the game.
