Editor's Note: The following is the ninth in a series of articles concerning propositions that will be on ballots throughout the parish on April 30. Of the 13 propositions, five will be put before the entire parish, while two will concern Town of Rosepine voters; two will concern voters in Road District 3; two will concern voters in Road District 4; and two will concern voters in Road District 1.
Voters in Road District 3 will consider on April 30 whether to renew a 10-year 4.59 mills property tax for constructing and improving parish roads and bridges within Road District 3.
The 4.59 millages is a 2.47 mills increase over the 2.12 mills tax authorized to be levied through 2011 in the October 20, 2001 election. ??The tax will result in an estimated $28,625 annually for a period of 10 years beginning with the year 2012 and ending in 2021. The funds are to be used for constructing and improving parish roads and bridges within Road District 3.
