Sheriff Sam Craft of the Vernon Parish Sheriff's Office has announced the Aug. 25 arrest of John “Johnny” Carroll, 54, of Hornbeck.

Sheriff Sam Craft of the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office has announced the Aug. 25 arrest of John “Johnny” Carroll, 54, of Hornbeck.

The VPSO responded to a residence on Brushy Creek Road in reference to a disturbance.

Upon arrival, deputies were advised that Johnny Carroll was intoxicated and had fled from the residence on foot into a wooded area with a firearm.

Deputies were also told that Johnny Carroll had allegedly fired several shots in close proximity to the residence.

Craft, along with deputies, canvassed the wooded area and Carroll was located a short time later.

Carroll was arrested and booked into the Vernon Parish Jail on one count of aggravated assault with a firearm and one count of illegal discharge of a weapon. 

Carroll's bond has been set at $25,000. He remains in the Vernon Parish Jail.
