Despite running just 29 offensive plays, the Tigers racked up 379 yards as they destroyed the No. 16 Lake Arthur Tigers in the second round of the Class 2A playoffs on Friday night, 41-6.

With the victory, Many improved to 12-0 on the season. The Tigers must take to the road in the state quarterfinals next Friday to meet up with No. 9 St. James, who destroyed Loreauville in the second round of the playoffs on Friday.

Lake Arthur finished the season with a record of 6-6.

Many wasted little time getting on the board, scoring a pair of touchdowns in each of the first two quarters. Brothers Isaiah Smith and Xavier Dias hooked up on a 39-yard touchdown pass to get Many on the board, 7-0.

A little while later, the lead grew to 14-0 when Dias raced 42 yards for the touchdown, the first of his two rushing touchdowns.

Early in the second period, James Carhee broke free for a 42-yard touchdown run, but the Tigers failed on the extra point, holding onto a 20-0 lead.

Prior to the halftime intermission, Dias threw his second touchdown of the game, a 30-yard strike to Tabarius Garner. Dias found Smith on the two-point conversion, giving Many a 28-0 lead heading into the break.

Lake Arthur running back Trey Hargrave found the end zone during the third quarter, capping a long drive with a 1-yard plunge to trim the deficit to 28-6.

However, Many was up to the task, responding with a 6-yard touchdown run from Dias to open up a 34-6 lead going into the final 12 minutes of play.

Freshman A.J. Carter scored his third touchdown of the playoffs in the final frame, galloping 41 yards for the score.

Dias completed 4-of-6 passes for 90 yards and two scores, while rushing for a team-high 79 yards and two more touchdowns.

In all, Many rushed only 23 times for 289 yards, with Carhee, Kelvin Gosey and Kentrell Maxie all rushing for over 50 yards.

Hargrave toted the ball an amazing 44 times for 179 yards and the touchdown.
