Sparked by Kiara Padilla and Camdyn Bass, the Leesville Lady Cats reached the win column for the first time last Thursday evening at Wampus Cat Stadium, picking up a 3-1 victory over the Menard Lady Eagles in non-district soccer action.

Leesville is now 1-1 on the season and will return to the field on Nov. 28-29 at the annual Rebel Cup Tournament at Pineville.

Padilla scored two of Leesville’s three goals in the game, with the other goal coming off the foot of Aleyah Donald.

Bass assisted on all three of the Lady Cats’ goals, while keeper Victoria Doctolero recorded eight saves in the match.

The Leesville Wampus Cats had no trouble defeating the Rapides Mustangs last Thursday night at Wampus Cat Stadium in non-district soccer action, coming away with a 4-0 win.

Leesville improved to 2-0 on the season and returns to action at the annual Rebel Cup in Pineville this upcoming weekend.

Four different Wampus Cats found the back of the net during the game, including Pablo Chavez, who now has five goals through two matches. Micah Bursh and Tucker Wann each scored, each recording their second goal of the season, while Joshua Shelton netted his first of the year.

Chavez added an assist in the contest, while Joe Flowers assisted on two goals. Kyle Collins also recorded an assist, while Johnny Price completed the shutout with eight saves.
