Faith Training Christian Academy and Leesville High School will be the site for high school basketball action on Thursday over the next few weeks.

The Louisiana Summer League, based out of Alexandria, has numerous teams from across the state playing in the league at various sites across central and west central Louisiana.

Locally, Leesville High School will host three more Thursday night sessions, while Faith Training Christian Academy will entertain action for another four Thursdays.

Last Thursday was the first action in summer league play, with Anacoco beating both Florien and Faith Training, while Leesville won both of its games against Simpson and Pickering.

Simpson knocked off Hornbeck, while the junior varsity squad from Leesville won both of its games.

More action is set this Thursday, June 11, at both FTCA and LHS. Leesville, Pickering, Many and Florien will be playing at Leesville High School’s four-game set, while FTCA will host Southwest-Lake Charles, Hornbeck, Pickering and Florien in its four-game schedule.

Games tip off at 5 p.m. at each site and admission is $5 per person, with senior citizens receiving free admission. Everyone is encouraged to come out and support their favorite teams.

The games are played under LHSAA rules, with the exception of a 10-minute running clock per period. If a game needs overtime, the first session is for one minute, with the second overtime being sudden death.
