Louisiana-Lafayette Athletic Director Scott Farmer says baseball coach Tony Robichaux has agreed on a multi-year contract extension with the school.

Farmer has not disclosed precise extension terms, which still must be approved by the University of Louisiana Board of Supervisors, but he tells The Advertiser (http://bit.ly/1JeFjbw) that he and Robichaux had been "negotiating a whole new contract," not simply an extension of Robichaux's current deal that paid $120,000 per year.

Farmer also says the new contract includes a "retention" bonus to be paid if Robichaux remains with the Ragin' Cajuns for the length of the deal.

Last season, Louisiana-Lafayette won the Sun Belt Conference tournament and advanced to the super regional round of the NCAA tournament before falling at LSU.
