Two Leesville men were arrested recently in relation to separate incidents, according to a release from the Vernon Parish Sheriff's Office.

Two Leesville men were arrested recently in relation to separate incidents, according to a release from the Vernon Parish Sheriff's Office.

Vernon Parish sheriff Sam Craft announced the July 16 arrest of Caleb Morgan, 30, of Leesville.

According to the release, police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in which Morgan was a passenger.

The news release from VPSO alleges that Morgan provided false information to deputies regarding his identity during the traffic stop. "Deputies were able to identify Caleb Morgan and found that he did have two outstanding warrants," the release states.

Morgan was arrested and charged with two counts of distribution of Schedule II Narcotics (Methamphetamine), according to VPSO. Bond was set at $50,000. Morgan remained in the VPSO jail as of Monday.

In a separate incident, deputies responded to the report of an alleged theft at a residence in the Rosepine area.

While taking the report, deputies were contacted by officers from the Rosepine Police Department indicating that RPD had a subject stopped in a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle, the release states.

Deputies responded to the location and made contact with Justin Phillip James, 33, of Leesville, the release states.

James was arrested and charged with one count of theft, one count of criminal mischief, one count of disturbing the peace and one count of criminal trespassing.

Bond had not been set at the time of the release on Monday, and James remained in the VPSO jail.
