A pair of ordinances will be introduced at the Leesville City Council meeting, slated for 3 p.m. Monday at city hall.

One ordinance is of particular interest as Ordinance 3 of 2017 deals with attire in a public setting.

Modeled after an ordinance recently passed in Alexandria, the new law deals with people dressing appropriately in public places. In the past, several municipalities in Louisiana have dealt with the issue of “sagging” pants, where the offender’s undergarments are exposed for the public to see.

There have been a number of complaints to city hall in recent months in regards to this issue, according to officials, so they decided to draft an ordinance to deal with it before it becomes much more of a problem in the city.

The city is also expected to authorize a contract to Apeck Construction for water line replacement at Ellis Street.
