The Vernon Parish Chamber of Commerce is hosting a trip to China, and you're invited.

Travelers will visit Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou and Hangzhou with opportunities to explore historic sites, like the Great Wall of China, Tian An Men Square, the Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, Summer Palace, Ming Tombs, and The Bund.

Citslinc, International, a North American tour operator, is offering a cost-effective trip to China, October 14-22, 2017.

The trip includes roundtrip airfare from Houston IAH International, hotel accommodations at four- and five-star hotels, three full meals each day, English speaking tour guide on a deluxe tour bus, entrance fees for all tour attractions on the itinerary, airport taxes and air fuel charge. The cost for Chamber members is $2,300 (double-occupancy). Non-members cost is $2,400.

“We’re excited to help publicize this China Tour,” said Anne Causey, Chamber Executive Director. “This is an excellent opportunity to be introduced to China. It is extremely affordable, easy group travel, and includes visits to major cities, various economic zones and major historical sites.”

Rhonda Martinez, executive assistant, and her husband, Joe, recently returned from this China trip. "Joe and I had a fantastic trip to China. We took close to a thousand pictures and cannot wait to share some of them and our thoughts and memories from the trip," she said. They will share their stories and pictures at an informational meeting held by the Chamber.

"Anyone who has ever travelled internationally will appreciate this trip. For anyone who has never travelled, this is an awesome way to begin. Citslinc International makes it very easy," said Martinez.

The informational meeting will be 5:30 p.m. - 7 p.m., Thursday, May 4, at the St. Michael’s Center, 105 West South Street, Leesville. Light appetizers and drinks will be available beginning at 5:30 p.m.

A second presentation will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 17, at the First United Methodist Church Hall. This will be a potluck-style luncheon. Bring a dish to share, or make a cash donation at the door. Call the Chamber to RSVP for one of the presentations.

Registration is due no later than June 1, 2017, with $200 down payment to reserve a spot.
