A couple from Beauregard Parish have been arrested in Mobile, Alabama for alleged counterfeit money charges.

Christopher Tanner, 44, and Debbie West, 43, were arrested for nine counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument.

The two caught the attention of local police when employee’s at a Holiday Inn in Tillman’s Corner, a small community near Mobile, reported that West had paid for their room using counterfeit bills. Police soon arrived on the scene and searched the couple’s hotel room.

Officers that searched the hotel room reportedly found more counterfeit money, a printing machine, and more equipment that is used in the process of forging currency.

According to jail records, the suspects currently live in DeRidder, Louisiana but both have lived in Mobile County in the past.
