Class B and C athletes aimed to take home gold to at the 2018 Outdoor Track Championships on Thursday at LSU.

Multiple Vernon Parish track and field athletes finished received medals after their performances.

Simpson's Dalton Reed placed first in the long jump (20-07.75) and triple jump (41-03.00) in Class C, while Evans' Joshua Brack took first in discus with a throw of 44.88 meters and third in shot put with a toss of 41-07.50.

Jessy Smith took bronze in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 11:33.6 as the Evans boys took home eighth place, overall.

The Anacoco girls finished in 13th overall, with the 4 x 400 meter relay team of Layken Moore, Ashlyn Chaney, Cally Hooks and Kayley Procell taking home second place.

On the boys side, Michael Mounce placed first in the javelin with a throw of 160-08, and Josh Martin's throw of 45-11.25 earned him silver.

Gavin Rangel picked up third place in discus with a throw of 35.50 meters, and the boys finished fourth as a team.

Hornbeck's John Jett cleaned up at state, picking up golds in the 800-meter, 1,600-meter and 3,200-meter run.

Kyle Hopkins finished in third in the discus with a throw of 154-10, and the Hornets placed sixth as a team.

The Hicks girls placed fifth overall after Shaley Charrier won gold in the high jump with a leap of 5-02, and Chloe Wilbanks placed second in the 400-meter dash and triple jump.

The Hicks 4 x 400 meter relay team of Daci Warren, Brooklyn Blackwell, Charrier and Wilbanks took third place.

On the boys side, Zach Harper took second in the high jump and third in the long jump.

Eric Doyle took home bronze in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.48 as the boys finished in the 20th place, and the girls picked up 19th place.
