A new Ford dealership is set to open in Rosepine on Wednesday. Benoit Ford, located at 18982 Johnnie B Hall Memorial Highway, will sell new Ford model cars and a wide variety of used cars to the community. Owner Jason Benoit is excited to get started and happy to be a part of the local community.
Originally from Sulphur, Benoit has had previous opportunities to start his own dealership. However, most opportunities were a considerable distance away and would’ve required moving. “I’ve had a lot of opportunities to buy stores in different areas, but I didn’t want to uproot my family,” Benoit said.
Benoit has been in the car business for 22 years and wants to become a part of the Rosepine community. He wants to do this so much so that he has an apartment in Rosepine where he will stay part time while keeping his home in Sulphur.
“My wife and I want to be involved in this community. Events, fundraisers, local sports, are just some of the things we want to become a part of in this community,” he said. “I want to dine in the community at night with my family.”
Benoit noted that his sales team that he’s assembled are “homegrown talent” that he knows will do great things. “I think it’s important for us to have a strong connection with the community. I don’t want to just be the ‘guy from out of town.’”
An issue that Benoit has noticed in not just the Rosepine community, but throughout part of Beauregard and Vernon Parishes, is that citizens don’t feel like they can buy the vehicles they want locally.
“Looking at a lot of data folks in this area haven’t felt comfortable buying cars locally. For whatever the case may be people don’t think they can get the same vehicles here that they get in Lake Charles, Alexandria, or Beaumont,” Benoit said. “I have to fill that hole. The only way to fill that hole is to provide an equal or greater experience as those out of town dealers.”
That experience will begin this Wednesday with a special promotion Benoit is offering to those who by a new Ford non-diesel vehicle a free lifetime powertrain warranty. Along with the new Fords, Benoit is inviting those looking for a used to come by the lot to see their wide variety of models.
“One of my business partners is one of the largest used car distributors in Louisiana. We are going to have a huge pre owned inventory,” said Benoit. “If there is a specific used vehicle that you are looking for when you stop in, and it’s not on our lot, we can have it for you in two days. That’s something we have set up that’s unique to this store.”
Benoit said that improving the customer experience was one of his top priorities. He and his team want to establish a trusting relationship with the community, and to show them that they can buy the cars they want for the best deal locally.
