The staff at Samburgers were busier than usual Saturday as they celebrated their official grand opening. There was a raffle drawing, an official ribbon cutting and plenty of hamburgers hot off the grill.
It was a packed house as patrons came out to celebrate the restaurant owned by Sam and Jaymie Wright. Balloons, face painting and tons of smiling faces graced the restaurant that honors our local heroes.
When customers buy a Special Hero combo at Samburgers they can fill out a gift certificate that will then hang on the wall of the restaurant. When a soldier in uniform comes in to eat they can look on the wall and use one of those certificates to get a free meal.
That wall has started to fill up, as many customers want to honor their local heroes.
One of the goals that the Wrights want to achieve with Samburgers is to make it a place that serves and supports the heroes in the community such as those in the military, police force, fire department, EMTs, nurses and all first responders who give to the community.
With all the customers coming to Saturday’s grand opening, it looks like “paying it forward” is starting to pay off.
