Allen Acres Bed and Breakfast will be taking guests on a tour to see the lilies and orchids native to Louisiana.
The bed and breakfast will be hosting a special event from August 24 - 26. Visitors and guests will be shown numerous species of the flowers and animals that populate the West Central Louisiana area.
In addition to hummingbird and moth viewing, of which there have been over 700 species identified alone in Allen Acres, the event will showcase the Carolina Lily and Yellow Fringed Orchid to guests.
“This is just a chance to show people some of these flowers that they would never have seen before,” Owner of Allen Acres, Dr. Charles Allen said. “The best thing is, these are plants native to Louisiana, so this gives us a chance to show people the real beauty that’s to be found in our home state.”
Allen Acres will be taking guests on a caravan to select spots where the Carolina Lily and Yellow Fringed Orchid are known and expected to flower. Guests will be able to see these native flowers, among other species, such as the Yellow Fringeless Orchid and the Crested Yellow Orchid.
The tours and talks are available to all visitors and guests of Allen Acres Bed and Breakfast free of charge.
