Mario Sorce informed club members of the Leesville Rotary Club on how to navigate the updated website for Leesville Rotary Club (www.leesvillerotaryclub.org).
As the club's Media Director, Sorce works to upload and organize information and pictures on the site, all separated by previous presidential tenures.
Rotarians and the public can enjoy current or past year's events.
This is a treat for anyone wanting to look over the site, but is particularly memorable for Rotarians who have been a part of these projects and events since the 1980s.
Additionally, other information such as schedule of upcoming guest speakers, Rotary history details and local/national/international Rotary projects are available on the site.
President-elect, Henry Lacking updated the club members on the upcoming Annual George C. Thompson Memorial Cross Country Meet which will take place on Saturday, September 22, for area school athletes.
The event will be held at Ft Polk Honor Field and surrounding military pathways and is open to all area-wide schools. Cross country coaches can enroll their athletes on-line or via email before the deadline.
The event, t-shirts, and awards are provided by the Leesville Rotary Club at no cost to the participants.
Members present who have contributed to this year's District Governor's special donation project (Club 125) were presented with a special pin.
Assistant District Governor, Linda Thomas explained the pin is representative of the contribution some of the members have provided to Rotary International to support the general international projects fund and the Polio Plus fund.
Week after week, Leesville Rotarians get together, enjoy great fellowship, delicious food provided by Mustard Seed and local informational speakers as they figure out ways to "do things for people" just "because of who (they) are."
