The second season starts Friday night, and everybody is 0-0 as the playoffs begin.

In Class 4A, No. 6 Leesville takes on No. 27 Woodlawn-Shreveport in the first round.

The Knights won three of their last four games to finish the season 5-5, while the Wampus Cats ran the table to go a perfect 10-0 and won the district title.

No. 28 DeRidder goes on the road to challenge unbeaten No. 5 Lakeshore. The Titans have been dominant this season, holding teams to 10.3 points per game and averaging 49.7 points a game on offense.

After missing the playoffs last season, No. 21 South Beauregard takes on No. 12 Jena in the first round of the Class 3A postseason.

Jena went 8-2 and won its last four games of the year to pick up a high seed and tied for first place in District 3 with Caldwell Parish.

In Class 2A, Rosepine claimed the No. 4 seed and will go against No. 29 Port Allen in the first round.

The Eagles went a perfect 10-0 as one of of four undefeated teams in Class 2A, and Port Allen went 3-7 this season.

The Pelicans offense scored just 13.1 points a game, and the defense gave up 24.3 points a contest.

No. 13 East Beauregard barely missed the playoffs last season, but the Trojans will host a first-round game this year.

East Beauregard takes on district rival No. 20 DeQuincy. The Trojans defeated the Tigers 30-8 on Nov. 12 at home.

If Rosepine wins its first-round game, it will play the winner of East Beauregard and DeQuincy in the second round.

No. 19 Merryville travels to No. 14 White Castle in the first round of the Class 1A playoffs.

The 3-7 Bulldogs have a worse record than the Panthers but their strength of schedule lifted them to a higher seed.

Merryville will have to make a three-hour trip east to White Castle High School – just south of Baton Rouge – to open up the postseason.
