The Leesville Mayor’s Women’s Commission (MWC) is hosting a community clean-up day Saturday, March 23.

Everyone is encouraged to do their part and participate in this fun event.

There will be a scavenger hunt with financial rewards for first, second and third place finishers.

There will also be an opportunity for fitness pals and exercise groups to participate in the latest European fitness craze, Plogging. Plogging is a combination of jogging and picking up trash.

If you are not interested in Plogging a route for environmental walkers will be provided as well.

No matter the route you choose, stepping up to lend a hand to clean up the City of Leesville on this community clean-up day is sure to be exciting for everyone.

Participants are encouraged to register by March 15 by emailing leesvillemwc@gmail.com or at the reception desk at City Hall.

Check in at Liberty Gardens across from the Vernon Parish Library on March 23 will be held from 7:45AM-8: 20 AM when route and cleaning supplies will be issued to participants.

Clean-up will begin at 8:30 AM and run until 11:00 AM at which time hotdogs, drinks, snacks and prizes will be awarded.
