The Vernon Parish Sheriff's Office, Cryer's Sports, and the Vernon Parish Coroner's Sexual Assault Response Team are seeking donations to provide Survival Kits to victim's of sexual assault within Vernon Parish. The deadline for donations is August 1st.

During the process of a criminal investigation the victim of a sexual assault undergoes a forensic medical examination.

Any clothing worn by the victim during or after the sexual assault is collected by law enforcement for evidentiary purposes.

Often times the victim is left in a hospital gown and without comfortable clothing or basic hygiene items. This joint effort is to ensure that victims are able to leave the hospital comfortably and with dignity.

Each Survivor Kit will contain a clean and comfortable change of clothing to include a jogging suit, undergarments, socks, feminine hygiene products (pads & panty liners),soap, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, lotion, sanitary wipes (antibacterial baby wipes) travel size hygiene items, undergarments (Sizes XS - 3X ~ new cotton briefs & new sports bras) may be dropped off at VPSO.

Monetary donations for the Survivor Kits is much needed and may be dropped off at Cryer's Sports or VPSO. The cost of the jogging suits are  $20 per set.
