The Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man who allegedly burglarized a home in January. The VPSO searched for Chandler Perkins after issuing warrants for his arrest for the burglary.
After months of searching for Perkins, detectives were given information from a source that said Perkins fled to Oklahoma. The VPSO were able to contact local authorities in Oklahoma to assist them in finding and arresting Chandler. Chandler was arrested and taken into custody
Chandler Perkins was arrested in relation to a burglary and theft that took place in January 2019. Detectives issued warrants for Chandler at that time. VPSO received information that Chandler was in Oklahoma.
According to the VPSO, detectives contacted authorities in Oklahoma and Chandler was arrested and extradited back to Louisiana. It is not known if he was staying with anyone, or if there was anyone who helped him avoid capture during his time as a fugitive.
He has been charged with one count of simple burglary and one count of theft over $1500. If convicted, he could face substantial jail time. For the simple burglary charge he could receive a maximum of 10 years in prison, and for the theft charge he could spend a maximum of 12 years in prison.
