Rosepine at South Beauregard
Rosepine and South Beauregard are each coming off Week 1 loses and are searching for answers in Week 2.
The Knights fell to DeRidder, and the Eagles dropped one to Mangham in home openers.
Colby Hollier had over 100 yards for South Beauregard, and Jaylon Derouen picked up 58 yards in the loss.
The Knight offense was kept out of the endzone against a tough DeRidder defense but is poised for a big week.
Rosepine lost to Mangham 34-26 after some miscues put them in hole. Ethan Frey threw three touchdowns in the his first start at quarterback with two coming in the fourth.
The Eagles offense will need to establish a run game with Braden Nolen and company to get guys free on the outside for Frey.
Washington-Marion at DeRidder
DeRidder looked good in its Week 1 win over South Beauregard, establishing a run game late while the defense made plays, sideline-to-sideline.
KJ Gooden threw for 111 yards and rushed for two touchdowns, while Jalyn Thurman racked up over 100 yards in the win.
The Dragons take on Washington-Marion, which is coming off a loss to Sam Houston last week. The Charging Indians went 4-6 last year.
DeRidder defeated Washington-Marion 45-44 last season with a Thurman touchdown run as time expired.
Delhi at Merryville
Merryville is coming off a 32-20 loss to Mamou last week and takes on Delhi in its home opener.
This will be the first game of the season for Delhi after being unable to find a Week 1 opponent.
The Panthers and the Bears last met in the 2015 playoffs, with Delhi picking up the 52-22 win.
Cam'ron Williams recorded 102 yards against Mamou, picking up where he left off last season, and the Panthers pulled within a score in the third quarter. Blaise Duncan threw for 126 yards in his first game at quarterback.
