Sheriff Sam Craft announces the September 24, 2019 arrest of Brantley Yeley, age 30, of Leesville.

The arrest is the result of an investigation into a residential burglary complaint on Camp Baker Road.

VPSO was notified of the break in and theft on September 22, 2019.

The victim in the case indicated that the door of the residence was kicked in and various property items had been taken.

Deputies located a pillow case containing a DVR system box which was identified as the recording device for the victim's surveillance system.

Detectives were able to access the DVR and obtain video of the suspects committing the burglary.

VPSO received numerous phone calls regarding the identity of the two subjects.

Through further investigation the suspects were identified as Brantley Yeley and Robert "Bobby" West, age 29, of Oakdale.

Detectives and Vernon Parish Narcotics Task Force Agents executed a search warrant on Yeley's residence in the Anacoco Lake Spillway Park.

During the course of the search Agents located a quantity of Methamphetamine, Legend Drugs, and Drug Paraphernalia.

Yeley was arrested and charged with one count of Simple Burglary of an inhabited Dwelling, one count of Unauthorized use of a Motor Vehicle, one count of Criminal damage to property, one count of Possession of a Schedule II Narcotic (Methamphetamine), one count of Possession of a Legend Drug without a Prescription, and one count of Drug Paraphernalia. Bond has not been set and Yeley remains in the VPSO jail.

Additional charges are expected.

Warrants have been issued for Robert West in relation to this burglary.
