The LHSAA released its postseason brackets Sunday afternoon, and multiple local teams will be in action.
No. 17 Leesville at No. 16 Pearl River
The Wampus Cats will travel to Pearl River in the first round of the playoffs.
Pearl River and Leesville each lost its last two games heading into the postseason. Pearl River finished the regular season 6-3, while the Wampus Cats went 6-4.
No. 18 DeRidder at No. 15 Minden
Minden will host DeRidder in the first round after going 7-3 in the regular season. The Crimson Tide won its final two games of the season to seal a home playoff game with wins over Huntington and Franklin Parish.
DeRidder has won four of its last five with the only loss coming from No. 4 Tioga.
No. 25 Rosepine at No. 8 Kinder
Kinder defeated Rosepine 42-26 in Week 6 of regular season. The Eagles trailed by two entering the final quarter, but the Yellowjackets scored a pair of touchdowns to pull away late.
Kinder rushed for 429 yards, including 170 by Skyler Leckelt.
Rosepine quarterback Ethan Frey threw for 253 yards and two touchdowns, while Grant Ducote rushed for 138 yards.
No. 22 Merryville at No. 11 Grand Lake
Grand Lake defeated Merryville 46-20 in Week 4. Panther running back Lane Hamilton ran for 161 yards and a touchdown in the loss.
Grand Lake (6-4, 3-4) lost four of its last five games heading into the playoffs.
The Panthers finished the season 2-8.
No. 20 North Central at No. 13 East Beauregard
East Beauregard will host North Central in the first round the of the LHSAA playoffs.
North Central went 1-9 this year, with its only win coming via forfeit. The winner will take on No. 4 Oak Grove in the second round.
