Karen Gail Kelly Buxton
Funeral services for Karen Gail Kelly Buxton will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 21, 2021, in White Oaks Memorial Chapel with Brother Alfred Kennedy and Brother Howard Kelly officiating. Committal service will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Oakdale under the guidance of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Visitation will be held in White Oaks Memorial Chapel, Oakdale on Friday, August 20, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, August 21, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
Karen, 76, of Oakdale, entered eternal rest on Friday, August 13, 2021, in New Orleans. She was born August 15, 1944, in Negreet, Louisiana to James Burhl Kelly, Sr. and Jewel Phelps Kelly. Karen was a Licensed Practical Nurse and was a very caring person. She was a Baptist by faith. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Jewel Kelly; her husband, Gerald Buxton; two brothers, James Burhl Kelly, Jr., and John Terrell Kelly.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are one son, Keith Buxton (Barbara) of Oakdale; two daughters, Theresa G. Buxton of Oakdale and Marsha Sipe (Loy) of Elizabeth; one brother, Charles Kelly (Vida) of Brackettville, Texas; two granddaughters, Sarah Thompson (Andrew) of Richmond, Texas and Courtney Trammell of Oakdale; one great granddaughter, Avery June 'June Bug' Thompson; along with a host of family and friends.
Pallbearers to serve will be Robert West, Roland West, and Greg Hagerud, Robert Nelson, Treates Longino, and Terry Marcantel.
The family would like to specially thank Nathan Thomas and the rest of the Stat Home Health staff.
