Leesville - Funeral services for Stephen J. Parks, 74, of Leesville, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 29, 2021 in the Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 29th, from 1:00 P.M– until time of service in the funeral home.

Stephen was born on March 14, 1947 to his parents, James E. and Anna Bagley Parks in Cambridge, MA. He passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021.

Mr. Parks retired from the United States Army and later retired from Civil Service Ranger Control at Ft. Polk. Everyone remembers him for his gardening. He enjoyed sharing tips about gardening and sharing foods from his garden. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 3106 of Leesville and a 25 year member of the Retired American Legion Post 387 of New Llano.

He was preceded in death by parents and granddaughter, Brittney Morris.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Kathleen Parks of Leesville; sons, Stephen D. Parks of New Llano and James J. Parks of New Llano; daughters, Jo Stepp & husband Luther of Anacoco, Tamra Croulet & husband Timothy of Anacoco and Kathy Morris & husband David of New York; brother, James Parks and wife Audrey of Massachusetts; sister, Anne Winters and husband David of Massachusetts; grandchildren, Crystal Greenwood, Jennifer Stepp, Stephanie Zittle & husband Anthony, Kenneth Skinner and wife Candice, Kevin Skinner and wife Traci, Zachary Parks, David Morris, Ashley Morris, Holly Morris and Cailey Morris and numerous great-grandchildren.
