Louisiana's COVID death toll tops 4,000 for somber milestone
Louisiana's death toll topped 4,000 Thursday, a somber milestone despite some hopeful trends in cases and hospitalizations.
The state reported 50 more deaths for a total of 4,028.
Meanwhile, hospitalizations continued to fall, this time by 14 for a total of 1,457. The number of patients needing ventilators also declined by 18 Thursday for a total of 215.
Louisiana's Department of Health reported 1,303 new cases Thursday for a total of 127,246.
