Representative Chuck Owen attended a meeting in Lake Charles with other elected officials and the CEO of Suddenlink. Owen released a statement about how the meeting went and gave updates for local residents.

Owen issued the following statement Thursday through his Facebook Page:

"Attended a two-hour meeting with Suddenlink/Altice CEO, Mr. Dexter Goei in Lake Charles earlier today. Several of my legislative colleagues and I took the opportunity to relate to him inadequacies of Suddenlink’s services you all have made clear to me.

"Mr. Goei offered an apology to Suddenlink customers, reaffirmed that a credit would be issued and assured me that he would look into the significant customer service concerns we have all experienced in recent weeks and months.

"My BIG issue to Mr. Goei today was asking him to improve the details of customer service and relaying back to his call centers what has happened here and getting them prepared to assist us, their paying customers.

"After he met with legislators, he then held a 25 minute press conference. Things have improved in recent days, unless you’re one of the 1300+ citizens in Vernon and 1300+ in Beauregard who are still without service. The repairs are complicated and slow going. I will keep you posted as I hear new things."
