Mayor Rick Allen officially proclaimed the month of April as Child Abuse Prevention Month in the City of Leesville. Allen partnered with CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) and took part in planting the ceremonial blue pinwheels.

Leesville Mayor Rick Allen hosted a Pinwheel Planting Ceremony on Monday at Leesville City Hall. In doing so, he partnered with Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) and other local mayors to encourage all citizens to do their part to protect our children from abuse.

In 2008, Prevent Child Abuse America introduced the pinwheel as the national symbol for child abuse prevention and today guests planted pinwheels in front of city hall as a physical reminder of the great childhoods we want for all children.

As part of the ceremony, Mayor Allen signed a proclamation declaring the month of April 2021 as National Child Abuse Prevention Month in the City of Leesville and encouraged all citizens to do whatever they can to help ensure that every child can grow up in a secure and loving environment.
