BPSO May Deputy of the Month: Sara Barnes Sellers
Sheriff Mark Herford would like to announce the Beauregard Parish Sherrif's Office Deputy of the Month Sara Barnes Sellers for outstanding service during the month of May.
Sellers is a 1993 graduate of Merryville High School and a lifelong resident of Beauregard Parish. She began her career in dispatch at BPSO in 1997, working until 2003 where she was hired by the Louisiana State Police where she worked until she returned to BPSO in 2014, eventually becoming the assistant supervisor over communications.
Sara furthered her education by graduating from McNeese State University in 2021 earning her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice.
She also became the APCO Training Officer where she teaches other dispatchers.
She is very instrumental in assisting with OEP during Emergencies and Natural Disasters. Sara currently works at our BPSO West Substation as a Civil Deputy.
Sellers' hardworking ethics and beautiful spirit have been noticed time and time again throughout her career and had not gone unnoticed by her supervisors, peers, and community.
When the time came to choose Deputy of the Month,Sellers' superiors did not hesitate to name her, because of her performance throughout the month of May.
